CHARLOTTE, N.C. The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), the primary voice of the information technology industry in North Carolina, announced today that the luncheon program at the Innovation Leadership Summit will be presented by its successful Charlotte WISE (Women in Information Science and Engineering) chapter. The program will celebrate the chapter's year anniversary and feature keynote addresses from two extraordinary women business leaders and entrepreneurs. The Innovation Leadership Summit will be held at the Hilton Charlotte Center City on May 23, 2006.

The luncheon program features presentations by Patricia Pliego Stout, founder and owner of The Alamo Travel Group and Kathy Brittain White, founder and president of Rural Sourcing Inc. Pliego Stout and White will share their successes, challenges and innovative approaches to business and personal development. The program will be moderated by Kellie Bollinger, senior vice president of change management with Bank of America. Charlotte WISE will also announce the first recipient of the Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship, which honors the memory of Capling, a Charlotte WISE steering
committee member who unexpectedly passed away in August 2005. The scholarship has been established to continue Capling's legacy of fostering the careers of individuals in the fields of information technology and engineering.

"WISE is proud of its accomplishments this year and excited to be a part of the 2006 Innovation Leadership Summit," said Francis Queen, founder and president of Queen Associates, a recent Charlotte Chamber ITC Blue Diamond Award winning company. "Women lead companies of all sizes and we are pleased to showcase some of the top women executives in the country during our lunch program at the May 23rd conference."

The Charlotte WISE is a program of NCTA and is supported by a steering committee of women and men that represent companies with the likes of Bank of America, Wachovia, Microsoft, BellSouth, Duke Energy, and Time Warner Cable. The program has experienced rapid growth, demonstrating the need for high level executive engagement and professional development opportunities. Charlotte WISE aims to educate, engage and empower women and men in knowledge careers throughout the greater Charlotte and Western Carolina region.

"The greater Charlotte area has embraced WISE and looks to the program to provide events that further their career development and help attendees flourish in today's fast paced knowledge economy," said Terry Thorson Cox, executive director, Business Innovation & Growth Council. "The Innovation Leadership Summit is a prime example and WISE is thrilled to be playing an active role with the luncheon program. We focus on leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation and I hope women executives will join us and take part in this valuable and rewarding experience."

The Innovation Leadership Summit is Charlotte's leading forum on innovation, bringing together over 400 senior corporate executives for meaningful discussions, idea exchanges and networking opportunities.
